PURPOSE

The Behavioral Services Clinical Director will provide leadership for the Behavioral Services team of clinicians. The director will provide clinical oversight of the behavioral health programs, direct clinical care, and provide quality oversight, all under the direction of the Sr. Director of Community and Behavioral Services.

 

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

Reports To: Senior Director of Community & Behavioral Services

Supervises: Behavioral Services clinicians, to include, but not limited to licensed and unlicensed staff providing behavioral health services to T&H citizens

Liaison To: Other departments with CBS and T&H as needed or required


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Clinical oversight of Behavioral Health Clinicians
  • Provide for oversight, clinical training, and consultation for mental health and substance abuse services.
  • Ensures clinical activities are carried out in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and accreditation standards.
  • Responsible for recruitment, evaluation, development, coaching and counseling of Behavioral Health Clinicians.
  • Participate in development, direction and coaching on positive employee and participant engagement.
  • Participate in development, direction, and maintenance of quality assurance and improvement activities for clinical staff.
  • Collaboration with other departments regarding resources and
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of client and program
  • Conduct and coordinate in-service training and team meetings as
  • Positively and professionally represent the Behavioral Services Department with internal and external organizations, networking with community leaders and agencies to coordinate services.
  • Other duties as assigned.

NECESSARY SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Oversight and knowledge of clinical health provision
  • Oversight of substance use services
  • Clinical oversight
  • Experience in community behavioral health
  • Direct experience in clinical treatment services
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining quality assurance systems
  • Experience and confidence identifying and implementing evidence-based practices
  • Experience working in crisis settings with individuals and families
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Supervisory experience
  • Skill in establishing priorities with independent coordination of day-to-day aspects of clinical care

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (education, experience, skills)

  • Master’s degree in counseling, social work or related behavioral services field
  • 3 years’ experience managing clinical personnel

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (education, experience, skills)

  • Experience in Tribal and State reimbursement
  • Experience with program accreditation

 

UNUSUAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OR RESTRICTIONS

The majority of work is performed in a professional office setting and is generally sedentary, requiring routine walking, standing, bending, and carrying of items weighing less than 40 lbs.  Travel on small aircraft or ferry may be required.
