PURPOSE

The Printing & Engraving Technician will provide quality service in operating a variety of printing and engraving equipment for Tlingit & Haida’s retail ecommerce business. Incumbent will conduct detailed inspections of equipment and finished products, maintain a safe efficient working environment, and provide timely customer service.

 

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

Reports To: Inventory Control Specialist

Supervises: N/A

Liaison To: N/A

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Responsible for operating all digital printing and engraving equipment
• Provide technical solutions as required for bulk production of different types of printing and engraving
• Work independently to execute and document digital printing and engraving experiments
• Solve all types of technical issues related to sample, size set, bulk production etc. with the printing and engraving machine
• Ensure products meet set requirements and specifications (color fastness, durability, and accuracy etc.)
• Color retouching, fixing and re-creating files as needed, and color management
• Coordinate with the quality team to inspect and examine printing products for clarity, color accuracy, conformance to specifications, and external defects
• Responsible for proofing work to help ensure accuracy and efficiency
• Work closely with multiple departments to fill orders as they are submitted
• Responsible for material handling and storage of products before and after printing
• Inspect and maintain equipment daily for safety and quality
• Follow all safety standards and wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE)

• Proficient in Microsoft Office products 
• Ability and willingness to learn and integrate new technologies and methodologies to efficiently perform responsibilities 
• Ability to work as a team with coworkers 
• Ability to maintain accurate, complete, and confidential records 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (education, experience, skills)

• High School Diploma or GED
• 3 years clerical experience with 1 year in related field 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (education, experience, skills)

• Two years of entry technical level experience

UNUSUAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OR RESTRICTIONS

The majority of work is performed in a professional office setting and is generally sedentary, requiring routine walking, standing, bending, and carrying of items weighing less than 40 lbs.  Travel on small aircraft or ferry may be required.
