The Wellness Court Family Caseworker will be responsible for providing case management services to tribal citizens participating in Wellness Court Programming with Tlingit & Haida. The caseworker will
utilize a wrap-around service approach to provide professional level caseworker services. Priorities will include advocating for healing and wellness, monitoring progress and compliance with the program, developing individualized case plans, and linking clients to relevant and effective services.


Reports To: Wellness Court Coordinator
Supervises: N/A
Liaison To: Service Providers and Program Partners


• Responsible for reading and understanding the Healing to Wellness Court code, policy & procedures, faculty handbook and other program documents and materials
• Collect intake documents and participate in interview and screening process to establish eligibility
• Introduce clients into program and provide guidance on program participation
• Collaborate with client to develop an individualized strength-based case plan
• Monitor and provide professional oversight on cases
• Assist participants in the application process and refer to available tribal and community resources
• Follow-up with service providers and partners
• Collaborate with service providers to increase the likelihood of youth to successfully reach their goals
• Transport youth and families to program-related appointments and activities
• Document all contact with youth and service providers
• Knowledge and application of performance standards and guidelines on incentives and sanctions
• Report to the Youth Healing to Wellness Team on participant progress
• Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (education, experience, skills)
• Associates Degree in related field
• 2-year experience as caseworker or closely related position
• Valid Driver's License

Substitution for Associates Degree
• High School diploma/GED
• 4 years’ experience as caseworker or closely related field


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (education, experience, skills)
• Experience in Trauma-Informed and Strength-Based practices
• Knowledge of chemical dependency and relapse behavior


The majority of work is performed in a professional office setting and is generally sedentary, requiring routine walking, standing, bending, and carrying of items weighing less than 40 lbs. Travel on small aircraft or ferry may be required.
