PURPOSE

Front of House (FOH) Coordinator is responsible for promotion and sales for the Elizabeth Peratrovich Hall (EPH) and Smokehouse Catering. The Incumbent will build rapport, analyze customer needs, and book sales for Smokehouse Catering and the Elizabeth Peratrovich Hall.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

Reports To: Social Enterprise Manager  

Supervises: Up to six employees

Liaison To: N/A

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Develop and execute sales and profit plans that are in-line with budgetary goals

• Market the venue in person and through various online and print media 

• Network with existing and new business leads

• Develop and execute event plans for the EPH and off-site catering events

• Implement  event and catering software 

• Schedule and complete walk-throughs and client consultations

• Maintain a log of daily sales activity

• Close deals with enthusiasm

• Forward event details (floor plans, equipment needs, etc.) to event staff in written form

• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with local entities and leverage existing resources to expand services, functionality, and/or market reach of the EPH and Smokehouse Catering

• Act as primary contact for questions, concerns and staffing including holidays and weekends

• Cultivate a professional, friendly, efficient work environment

• Oversee front of house: customer service, preparation/presentation of food and beverage, operational procedures, merchandising, decorating

• Streamline hall logistics and assets

• Identify ways to cross-promote between the Tribe’s family of social enterprises

•Interact with internal team members, clients, supervisors and suppliers to promote EPH and Smokehouse Catering

NECESSARY SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent organizational and planning skills

• Work independently with little supervision

• Develop and implement monthly and annual plans

• Cross cultural sensitivity

• Speak clearly and effectively and handle with courtesy and tact a variety of public encounters, both on the phone and in person

• Maintain client confidentiality

• Understand and carry out oral and written directions with minimum explanation 

• Analyze situations accurately and take effective action

• Function with a high degree of independence and work cooperatively with others

• Excellent computer skills including all Microsoft office suite programs

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (education, experience, skills)

• Associates Degree in business, Marketing, or Food & Beverages field 

• Two years’ experience in food and beverage/hospitality industry 

• Two years’ supervisory experience 

• Valid driver’s license

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (education, experience, skills)

• Three or more years experience in sales and/or marketing in the hospitality industry

• Catering sales background

• Social media marketing experience

UNUSUAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OR RESTRICTIONS

The majority of work is performed in a professional office setting, requiring routine walking, standing, bending, and carrying of items weighing less than 40 lbs.  Travel on small aircraft or ferry may be required.
